The Northern Lights – Driver’s Eye View£15.00
This Video 125 Driver’s Eye View covers the superb journey up the east coast of Scotland from Edinburgh to Aberdeen. As well as the sights, you will be delighted to hear the stereo sound of the original Paxman Valenta engine too!
The route is from Edinburgh Waverley, out through the tunnels to Haymarket and followed by that great railway structure – the Forth Bridge. The journey also includes Britain’s longest bridge – that over the River Tay. With a helicopter flying alongside these phenomenol structures are seen from an aerial viewpoint too.
North of Dundee, with the sun gradually sinking in the clear blue sky the HST calls at Arbroath and Stonehaven. Lots of semaphone signals to see too. This really is the Northern Lights!
Filmed in 1996 – Running Time 95 Minutes.
The Down Fishguard – Driver’s Eye View£17.50
Swindon to Fishguard
This Video 125 Cab Ride is filmed aboard a First Great Western 125 High Speed Train (HST) before the through services were abandoned and covers the direct line from Swindon, via Bristol Parkway, Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Neath, Swansea, and Whitland to Fishguard.

HST West & Far West – Driver’s Eye View£20.00
This Video 125 DVD set was first released as two separate products.
Covers virtually the whole of Brunel’s route from Exeter St David’s to Newton Abbot including the glorious section through Dawlish and on through Totnes, over the infamous banks at Dainton and Rattery to Plymouth finishing with a driver’s eye view of the Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash. Filmed in 1986 just weeks before the semaphore signals were abolished for ever.
HST Far West
This starts at the Royal Albert Bridge. The 75 miles from Saltash to Penzance contains the greatest number of viaducts per mile on any British Railway and such exaggerated curvature that there is only one dead straight mile of track throughout. Once again, virtually the whole route is shown including the many single line sections. Filmed in 1990.
There are dozens of aerial views taken from a helicopter on both of the above productions.
Total Running Time – 180 Minutes
HST Great West – Driver’s Eye View£15.00

A second cab ride covers sections of the Bristol to Exeter route via Cogload Junction and Taunton.
Produced by Video 125 – Filmed in 1993 – 95 minutes duration.
Cotswolds & Malverns line – Driver’s Eye View£20.00
The Cotswolds and Malverns line is 86¼ miles long through the heart of the English countryside, recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
This DVD produced by Video 125 begins at Oxford, the gateway to the Cotswolds. Much of the route is of single track but some sections have recently been reinstated allowing line speeds of up to 100mph. Much of the route is still worked on the block signalling principle and controlled by semaphores. The DVD is filmed from the cab of a First Great Western HST.
As well as following our HST from the cab and trackside, there are also sections of the magnificent scenery filmed from the air. This Driver’s eye view was filmed almost in real time and mostly in the mid-summer sunshine of 2013.

Midland to Manchester DVD£11.00
During summer 2004, 125 Group was given exclusive authority by Midland Mainline to record the view from the cab of a Project Rio service.
In order to ‘keep the sun on our backs’ we nominated the 0900 from London St. Pancras as first choice train. On the day, there were two things that we desperately wanted to avoid, one was rain, the other a VP185! Fortunately the rain kept away and we were not disappointed with the set provided, 43198 leading and 43158 trailing gave a flawless performance. Despite a random signal check and some horses on the line, Leicester was reached early so we were away ‘right time’. Remarkably, the next time we stopped was in the platform at Manchester Piccadilly having run via the regular Rio route of the Erewash and Hope Valleys and then via Romiley as the Stockport area was blocked for West Coast Route Modernisation work.
